Documents, correspondence, texts of interviews, essays, and news clippings Brandon assembled during the course of his research on several projects and two unpublished books he worked on during the 1970s. His interests were the American labor movement and socialism, the Workers' Film and Photo League which was an independent filmmaking group, and distribution of foreign films throughout the United States. Collection contains correspondence with other historians and filmmakers, notes and drafts for his unpublished books, notes and drafts on film censorship, and drafts for his published articles. Also, scripts, production papers, correspondence, commentaries, news clippings and reviews, and related material concerning a large number of films involving the labor movement and censorship; and information about labor activists and other personalities. Brandon also collected material concerning censorship of films in New York State and Ohio for many specific films; many news clippings about the Workers' Film and Photo League, 1930-1936; and a large quantity of news clippings concerning many subjects including labor history and the Spanish Civil War, World War II, and some foreign films.
